About Sarah Miller Caldicott

A great grandniece of Thomas Edison and his second wife Mina Miller Edison, Sarah Miller Caldicott has been engaged in creativity and innovation throughout her life. Prompted by a family history of invention dating back five generations, Sarah began her 20-year career as a Marketing executive with brand-driven firms such as Pepsico and Unilever.

For 12 years, Sarah led innovation initiatives both domestically and internationally, launching major mass brands including Cycle, Finesse, Suave, and Degree. As an International Marketing Director for Unilever's Helene Curtis subsidiary, Sarah's teams spearheaded innovation initiatives spanning three continents. In 1998, desiring to pursue more entrepreneurial projects, Sarah established her own consultancy serving Fortune 500 firms as well as small, entrepreneurial operations.

Concerned that America was losing its innovation edge, Sarah spent three years researching Edison's innovation methods, working with Edison experts and original, archived material. Now, in her new book, Innovate Like Edison: The Success System of America's Greatest Inventor, Sarah reveals the masterful innovation system that enabled Edison to develop world-changing innovations over more than 60 successive years. Innovate Like Edison offers readers an in-depth exploration of Edison's Five Competencies of InnovationTM and the 25 Elements which support them. Taking readers step-by-step through Edison's timeless system, Sarah's book helps individuals create Innovation Literacy by putting into practice Edison's own innovation methods.

A professional speaker, author, and consultant, Sarah thrills audiences all over the country with her award-winning combination of solid content and humor. Whether you are seeking executive seminars on Edison's Five Competencies of InnovationTM, or desire insights on bringing Edison's Innovation Literacy BlueprintTM into your organization, Sarah's expertise is relevant to organizations of all sizes. She advises senior executives, business owners, and team leaders on how to structure their teams for maximum innovation impact so that they can "re-wire" their corporate cultures to create a 21st century innovation powerhouse and hire the kinds of employees that will thrive in an innovation driven culture.
