About Patti Digh
"What would you be doing today if you only had 37 days to live? By asking this simple but powerful question every morning, Patti Digh-an internationally recognized diversity expert and mother of two-transformed her life. In October 2003, Patti Digh's stepfather was diagnosed with lung cancer, dying just 37 days later. The timeframe scared her and woke her up. She started writing an "instruction manual for living" to leave behind for her two young daughters in case she died-guiding them not how to steam artichokes or find the lowest airfares, but how to live compassionate, full, regret-free lives. Digh's guidebook to her daughters became her award-winning blog, 37days and now, this book: LIFE IS A VERB: 37 Days to Wake Up, Be Mindful, and Live Intentionally LIFE IS A VERB is the first blog-to-print literary work illustrated exclusively by the author's blog readers from around the world.
Patti has written two business books on global leadership and diversity, one named a Fortune magazine "best business book for 2000," and her comments have appeared on PBS, and in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, the New York Times, USAToday, the Washington Post, and London Financial Times, among other national and international publications. She speaks around the world on diversity, global business, and living intentionally.
Patti is a co-founder of The Circle Project, a consulting and training firm that partners with organizations and the people in them to help them work more effectively and authentically together across difference. She was formerly the vice president of international and diversity programs for a large nonprofit organization.
Patti and her husband live in the beautiful mountain town of Asheville, North Carolina, with their two daughters, Emma and Tess.
